Hey I’m Jill!

I’m a professional, evidence-based voice teacher who specializes in helping high schoolers and young adults up-level their musical theatre and pop/rock training. Navigating auditions, casting decisions, rehearsals, performances, college prep—or simply singing for the joy of it? I’ve got your back.

My teaching philosophy is rooted in a holistic, mind-body approach — I believe that your best singing comes from feeling grounded, confident, and connected to both your body and your emotions. The voice is more than just sound; it’s an extension of who you are. My goal is to help you unlock that connection in a supportive, stress-free environment where you can truly shine.

I hold a BFA in Musical Theatre from Western Connecticut State University, where I received national recognition from the Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival. In high school, I had the honor of competing on Broadway at the 2013 and 2014 Jimmy Awards, where I placed as a top finalist.

I’m certified in Level 1 of Maddie Tarbox Voice Studio’s Evidence-Based Voicework Pedagogy Program (Voice Function 101), and I’m also a 200-Hour Certified Aligned Vinyasa Yoga Teacher — a practice that deeply informs my teaching and fuels my passion for helping singers find freedom and ease in both body and voice.

In addition to teaching, I’ve released original music — my single Selfish Motives was featured in the September 2021 issue of Relix magazine alongside the band My Morning Jacket. I’ve also performed professionally in regional theater productions like Big River, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, and The Fantasticks, and in concert appearances with Broadway stars Millie (Matilda) and Abigail Shapiro (How The Grinch Stole Christmas), Andrea McArdle (the original Annie), and in a cherished duet with my former vocal coach and Broadway legend Linda Eder (the original Lucy in Jekyll & Hyde).

My training includes working with Broadway greats such as John Hickok (Little Women), Frank Wildhorn (composer of Bonnie & Clyde), Andrea Burns (In The Heights), Tim Howard (Parade national tour), Elizabeth Parkinson (Movin’ Out, Tony nominee), MaryAnn Lamb (Chicago the movie), Scott Wise (Jerome Robbins’ Broadway, Tony Award winner), and Janelle Robinson (Mary Poppins).

At the end of the day, my mission is simple: I want every student to leave their lesson feeling worthy, capable, and inspired — not just as a singer, but as a human being.

When I’m not teaching, you can probably find me sipping a matcha latte, hanging out with my mini poodle Honey and my tuxedo cat Annie, and learning new ways to help singers thrive. :)

“Her new track “Selfish Motives” retains the same pop soulfulness, but this track feels like a step ahead! It’s slick, tight, and a total earworm.”
